Mouth, Cheek And Ears Area Has Brown Pin Pricks. What Are They?

My 13 month old son i realized has started having this little brownish pin-pricked around the mouth area and now i see a bit near the cheek and ear area. I see one or two on his legs and arms, i checked his temperature and he does not have a fever he doesn t seem unwell. I am worried it is menagititis, we will be bringing him to the ped tomorrow but just a little worried. He is very happy, plays and all.

Hi,

Thanks for writing here.

It seems your baby having atopic dermatitis.

It is very common in childhood.

In case of meningitis child is always irritated.

Rash will subside by its own or you can just apply a mild steroid like hydrocortisone for some days.

Hope this will help you.Take care.
