Missing Periods For 13 Months, Sore Breast And Nipples, Pink Discharge. Normal Pap Results. Advice?

I am 57 years old. I have gone 13 months without having a period. A few days ago my breast and nipples go so sore and it hurts just to take a shower. I have slight pink and sometimes tan tinged discharge with no odor. Nothing red or brown I just want to know whats going on with my body. I just got my PaP results back and it was normal

Hi,
It seems that due to menopause some hormonal disturbance might have given this problem.
But at this age any soreness or abnormal discharge from nipples should not be neglected.
Consult Gynaec and go for mammography to rule out any pathology in the breast.
Ok and take care.

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

First of all, the pap smear has nothing to do with your cycles. Given that you have gone over 12 months with no period, you are technically 'menopausal'. Any further bleeding requires further workup with a biopsy of the lining of the uterus and an ultrasound (this should happen now).

I hope that this helps and good luck!

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
So, you are post-menopausal now.
Any vaginal bleeding or spotting now is abnormal & need active investigation.
You should have one trans-vaginal ultrasound to make sure all is well inside your womb. If necessary you will be required to have endometrial biopsy.
If the discharge is from breast ( you were not clear in your question), breast examination by a Surgeon is the most ideal thing to do.
Wish you good health.
Take care.
