Mild Pain In Lower Abdomen, Bloated Feeling, Excessive Gas With Belching. Cause And Remedial Measures ?
I am having mild pain in the lower abdomen and feeling of bloating . I also have excessive gas formation particularly at night disturbing the sleep, If i drink water then belching starts and continues sometimes for more than two hours. Once the gas is released, I can get the sleep. This problem is chronic. Could you suggest the cause and remedial measures. RB
Your symptoms might be attributed to indigestion. I would advise you to do the following :
1. If you are overweight, do try to reduce your weight.
2. Avoid deep fried ,oily food, spicy food, carbonated beverages, alcohol & smoking.
3. You could take pantoprazole 40mg 1 tab daily half an hour before breakfast for 2 weeks.
Occasionally you may take 1 tablet of Gelusil MPS.
4.Regular exercise 30-45 minutes daily for 5 days a week.
5. Avoid lying down immediately after a meal. Wait for at least 2 hours after a meal before lying down.
6. Have smaller frequent meals rather than 3 large meals.
7. Have sips of warm water at regular intervals
Hope this helps
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
