Menopause, Lower Back Ache, Bleeding. Taking Arimidex Tab. Could The Medication Cause The Symptoms?
I am 65 years old, female, and over the last few days I have had a slight lower back ache (something like menstral cramping). Today there was vaginal bleeding, enough to color the toilet water to red. Recently my Oncologist changed my medication from Tamoxifin to Arimidex 1 mg. I have been on the Arimidex for about three weeks now. Could this medication cause these symptoms?

Anastrozole is not shown to cause vaginal bleeding as a side effect. You should immediately report the matter to your health care provider as you may need a local exam to identify the cause and further management of the condition.
