Menopausal, Severe Pressure Sensation In Vagina, Burning Sensation, Bulge In Cervix. Is It Organ Prolapse?
Hello, I am 50 years old in menopause for past 8 years. I have given birth to 5 children between age 20 and 30. I am having severe pressure in my vagina and burning pain in my lower back near my tail bone. We just move here and do not have a Dr. yet. I can see what looks like my cervix and a bulge about the size of a ping pong ball. I don't even have to open myself up down there as it is already speed wide open on it's own. From what I have been able to research it is organ prolapse. My question is at what point is this considered an emergency to go to the ER. It feels like I am in very early labor
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The mild bulge of the cervix or its anterior or posterior part can be due to organ prolapse which is more common in post menopausal females. This can be confirmed only after a direct physical examination. Pelvic floor exercises will help in reducing the symptoms. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
