Medication For Painful Vaginal Stitches

My daughter had a baby last week and the midwife sew her up. Her stitches on the outside have split and the midwife told her she can have a designer vagina when she has finished having children and in the meantime, my daughter is in pain and cannot go to the toilet.

Hello,
It appears as though the sutures have gaped perhaps due to some edema, infection and sometimes due to tight stitching. She can be decided if she would need secondary repair after a clinical evaluation by a specialist. The edema needs to be relieved through anti-inflammatory medication and cold compresses. Healing can be encouraged through sitz baths. This can relieve pain while using the toilet. Local application of anesthetic gels gives relief from pain. Please maintain genital hygiene. Hope this helps.
