Hello,
Your father is retired and it created an empty space in his life. That is a common reason for depression in this age group. I would suggest increasing the dose of Nexito Forte to 2 tablets per day, for 7 days, then shift to one Tab. Nexito (Escitalopram 10 mg) and one Tab. Nexito Forte (Escitalopram 10 mg + Clonazepam 0.5 mg) Then continue to only 2 Tab. Nexito after 15 days after consulting your treating psychiatrist. He should be better with his depression with this.
However, apart from drug psychosocial intervention is equally important for him. Let him socialize with people of his age, regular exercise. It will be good for him if he takes up some social or family responsibility so as he finds himself productive than retired.
Meanwhile you have to be supportive to him so as him to combat with this phase change in his life.
One more thing to tell here is that in this age please take care of his general medical health (Diabetes, Hypertension, Arthritis, etc) which worsens the prognosis of recovery and keep watching for any cognitive decline.
Hope your concern is addressed. Feel free to ask any more queries.
Regards.
