MRI Shows Abnormal Bone Marrow In Lower Back. Stiffness, Pain. Any Ideas?

An MRI reflects abnormal bone marrow in lower back on my son. He s a collegiate baseball player and is suffering from constant stiffness and some pain(scale of 10, he s a 6). Blood work is scheduled next week. He s playing through the pain and the Dr has not shut him down yet. He has discussed intense therapy and/or chiropractic but wants bloodworm first. He s 6 4 and weighs 230 if that helps. Any other ideas?
