MRI Done. What Does Findings Mean?

Thank you!
I am curious as to what my MRI results mean in laments terms.

c5-6 there is mild circumferential disc annulus bulge, minimally narrowing the ventral subarachnoid space. there is no impingement of the spinal cord. Neural Foramina are patent bilaterally.

c6-7 The is at least circumferential disc annulus bulge. the axial sequences suggest there may be more focal central to right paracentral protrusion; however there is significant motion artifact at this level. on the sagittal sequence, the ventral subarachnoid space is effaced and disc material may be contacting the ventral aspect of the cord. but the cord is normal caliber and signal. the neural foramina are patent bilatterally.

Dear friend, welcome to Healthcaremagic!
I am Dr. Prasad Akole (Critical Care Expert- http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole) and am glad to address to
your query here.

In simple terms, your MRI shows that there are small minimally slipped discs (inter-vertebral discs) at C 5-6 and 6-7 levels in the neck spine (cervical). There is no pressure on the spinal cord or exiting nerves.
They are minimally bulging into the spinal canal.
There is no immediate serious threat.
You should consult your ortho/ spine specialist to know what precautions to take.
There is no need for surgery etc.

I hope to have answered your query satisfactorily. I would be glad to answer any further queries. Take care and please keep me informed of your progress at http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole
Good Luck!
