Lumps On Chest

hi, i m male and 34 years old. i have found a hard lump which is situated just on the top (and including on) of my left nipple and is about 1cm long by about 1.5cm wide. the lump itself doesnt hurt when touched or held, and doesnt pertrude out much at all, but the skin itself is rather tender to the touch and quite inflamed now (due to rubbing i think). i have been to the doctor who advised that an ultrasound has been booked and i need to wait for that appointment. i am a smoker and have been smoking now for around 20 years. any sort of advice or anyone with a similar problem in the past would be welcome to reply. thanks for your time

Hi,thanks for query.Please do not worry,the lump has nothing to do with your smoking habit.The problem could be either inflamed gland in the breast or some local cyst.It gets swollen and become painful when comes under pressure and on repeated touching.Please avoid touching it.Also avoid putting pressure on it.You can take analgesic for pain and inflammation as per the need for mean time.
