Lump On Foot, Bruised, Pain

I have a pea sized lump on the bottom of my foot surrounded by a bruise . I noticed pain in the bottom of the foot when I stepped on the threshold between two rooms. i had a sharp pain there but thought I just stepped weird and went on with my day. Last night I looked at the bottom of my foot and noticed this lump in the soft tissue . It is very painful. What do you think it can be? I m on vacation now and won t be home till the weekend and I m concerned what it may be. Please advise. Thank You

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
There is one of the 2 possibilities in your case. 1. Either the swelling might have existed for some time; you were not aware of it until you stepped on the door-threshold or 2. The swelling could be truly acute. Without physical examination it is not possible to make an accurate diagnosis. In the present situation, I would suggest a course of an antibiotic and an analgesic-anti-inflammatory medicine. Further course of management can be planned on physical examination and looking at the response to the treatment (which I recommend and in case if you followed it).
Thanks.
