Lump In The Back Of The Head After A Fall. Headache, Getting Noise In The Head. Worried

Hi

Three weeks ago I fell in the dining room of a cruise ship. I had an instant fairly large 'egg' on the back of my head. I hit it on the edge of a unit and then edge of ice bucket on a stand. I had a headache for a couple of days but am now getting noise in my head and the odd headache. I never get headaches but am disabled with a full artificial leg which means when I fall I have no control over how I fall. Is this conneted with the fall?

Hi user
Thanks for posting query
Our concern is why you had fall. Was it sudden imbalance due to dizziness or just missed step. It is important to know because it may happen due to some disease of Brain.
What you are seeing back of head most probably is clotted blood (hematoma) as consequence of trauma happened trauma .
Next thing to know the cause of headache and noise you are hearing (TINNITUS).
You should get CT scan head to rule out head injury specially concentrate over fracture of bone underlying ear which contain nerve responsible for balance and noise
Hope this will help you

Hello,
You had a head injury three weeks ago followed by headache and swelling in the back of the head. The headache lasted only for 2 days. Now as a late onset, you have an odd headache and noise in your head.
Even though you are disabled - as per the history, I understand that you didn't feel giddy and fell.
Whether you suffered loss of consciousness, if so how long?
The possibilities are:
1) You might have suffered a concussion - which can produce varieties of symptoms.
2) Along with head some minor trauma to the ear
3) Already you might have had wax or infection in the middle ear
Anyhow a CT scan + ENT opinion is advised before taking any medications.
Tab. Paracetamol or Tab Ibuprofen can be taken safely for pain and that too for the time being
I hope no problem will be there
With my warm regards
