Lump In Right Side Of Throat, Cold, Discomfort In Bronchial Tube. Family History Of Asthma, Sinus Problems. Medical Cure For This?

Hello. I am thirteen years old and I have noticed since this morning that I feel like there is a lump in the right side of my throat so I am compelled to swallow often, even though it won't dislodge. I believe I may have felt this lump before but it went away soon after. I feel some discomfort in what I believe is the bronchial tube leading to my right lung. I had a cold about four weeks ago and I noticed that even now, I sometimes bring up green mucus even though I am no longer sick. I am also feeling slight discomfort in my right lung and for quite a few months or so, I have been sensitive to strong perfumes, smoke, etc. When I inhale them, I feel like I can't breathe at all. Also, whenever I poke between my ribs where my right lung is, it feels funny. Nobody around me smokes, my mother has sinus problems and my baby sister was recently diagnosed with asthma. Can you help me with this problem please?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to Health care magic,

I am Dr Sriram Nathan and I shall try to help you out with your problem

The lump around the throat since is of a short duration can be due to many causes most of which are benign and harmless so you do not have anything to worry about.

You may start a course of antibiotic like amox-clav along with an anti reflux medication like pantoprazole. Your doctor will know about these.

Take only non spicy, non oily and warm food and fluids

Take a course of multivitamin like zincovit in consultation with your doctor

If you do not get better in a week or so then you must consult an ENT doctor who may advice further course of action which may include biopsy

take care and do not worry

regards

Dr Sriram Nathan
