Lump Above Knee, Sore To Touch, Bruising, Redness, No Injury To Leg. Causes?

Yesterday I noticed a knot on the back side of my leg, right above my knee . It had some bruising around it and was sore to the touch. Now the bruise is about 2 inches around and still very sore. It is really red where the knot is. I know that I did not hit this part of my leg to cause the knot and bruising. It just appeared yesterday morning. Do you know a possible cause? Should I see a doctor?

Hello,

You should surely see doctor for this. There are two likely possibilities with this.First is venous thrombosis and second is subcutaneous hemorrhage due to altered blood coagulation status.

Regards.
