Loud Popping Sound On Inner Thigh Followed By Severe Pain In Right Thigh Going Down To Heel And Foot After Doing Splits. Pulled Muscle?
Hi I did the full right splits last night but without warming up. I heard a loud pop pop pop on inner right thigh and then had pain in right thigh radiating down to the heel and foot at times. I had to limp last night. I am still limping slightly today, the pain seems to be in outer right thigh now and I can't touch my toes as usual. Is this a pulled muscle and if so can I go back to yoga on Sunday? Thank you

General & Family Physician, Dr. Jay Patel's Response
Hi,
Based from the information you had loud popping sound in inner thigh and had sever pain along with limping of leg and all this happened while you were doing right split and wanting to know what it can be.
Their are to possibilities 1) ligament tear. 2) muscle sprain.
You will need further investigation such as MRI to figure out what actually happened.
Thanks. Hope it helps. Dr.JAY PATEL.
