Loss Of Voice After Having Cold. Coughing With Phlegm. Cure?

I ve had a cold for a week, should be gone by now. My voice has been mostly gone since Thursday. I am a cantor, this is my important time of year, couldn t sing this weekend. I went silent all day today. Been drinking lots of tea with lemon and honey , frequent hot showers, coughing up lots of phlegm . What else can I do to move this along?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
It seems that due to cold and infection there might be swelling on vocal cords giving rise to hoarseness of voice.
Go for antibiotic and decongestant medicines after consulting your doctor.
Do warm water, listerine gargles.
Do vicks vapor inhalation.
Give complete rest to vocal cord.
Ok and bye.
