Loose Motion, Fatigue, Restlessness, Frequent Bowel Movement After Removing Thyroid Glands Due To Cancer. Solution?
Hi my father is 65 years old and has removed his thyroid glands 10 years back due to thyroid cancer. He was not having problems for many years with the daily pills he is taking as supplement for his hormone. But now, even though he is taking the pills for supplement the thyroid hormone, he is always having loose motion, fatigue and restlessness due to his problem of going to toilet for atleast 8 to 10 times in a day... What could be the solution to my father's thyroid problems.....
Hi, many thanks for the query! You need to do Thyroid profile, so that adequacy or excess of the hormones can be detected & corrected accordingly by your Endocrinologist. Your symptoms suggest that its excess of hormones but if not (as per reports) it can be due to infective etiology in which case you need to start anti-biotics as per Culture & Sensitivity report of Stool examination along with antispasmodics, antacids, pre- & pro-biotics to replenish your Gut-flora with your doctor's opinion. Drink plenty of oral fluids specifically those containing salts like ORS. Wish you a good health. Take care.
