Lightheadedness, Black Spots In Vision, Tingling Sensation Throughout Body, Unable To Focus. Is It Serious?
Hi my 11 year old daughter is 5'2" and 100lbs. For about 7 months she's been complaining about feeling light-headed evey so often. Now she's saying she sees black spots, feels tingling all over her body and not being able to focus. It has been happening evey other day. I have an appointment with a neurologist and she's going to have an eeg done as well. Could it be something serious?
The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be due to: 1. Any pathology in the vestibular apparatus in inner ear (it is associated with maintenance of body posture & balance) 2. Any stress or inadequate rest & sleep. 3. Decrease in blood sugar levels (Hypoglycemia) 4. Deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vitamin B 12, Calcium, etc. which interferes with blood formation & nerve conduction. 5. Long term use of certain medications.
Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood sugar levels will be helpful.
So, it will be better to consult a Neurologist & get a proper physical examination done. Based upon that, appropriate management steps could be taken.
