Light Spotting With Cramps. History Of Stopped Breastfeeding And TTC, Followed By Regular Periods. Normal?
Hi, I have had a baby 9 months ago and just gave up breastfeeding her so we can start trying for another baby. However I had a period starting the 1st of November and it went for 5 days as normal and before my daughter I was a 28 day cycle. I have for the past 5 days have had light spotting and cramps. Is this normal or could I be pregnant already?
Thanks for query on HCM. There are less chances of pregnancy because you have light bleeding for 5 days. The average time it takes for breastfeeding mums to become fertile and start their periods again is about six months or it may be over a year before you start ovulating again, and your periods return. There's no usual time for you to start ovulating again and for your periods to resume. It varies from woman to woman. Your periods return also depends on the level of the hormone progesterone in your body. If you have lower levels of progesterone, you are likely to get your periods back earlier. Better go for USG ovulation study and plan accordingly under guidance of your obstetrician.
