Left Ovary Follice Shows 16*19mm And 21*21mm Size And Endo Is 6mm. Is It Normal ?

Hello doctor ,Today is 10th day of my cycle.My left ovary follice shows 16*19mm and 21*21mm size and endo is 6mm.stressed out if its good??

Hi Srividhya,

Welcome to HCM.

Follicle study is indicative of good follicles provided you had a previous scan on 7th day of the cycle (base line study) which showed a follicle size smaller than this, otherwise no comment can be made.

From this data, time of ovulation cannot be predicted. You need serial follicular growth monitoring on ultrasound scan starting from 7th day of cycle to assess the progress and once ovulation occurs the dominant follicle/s will collapse with small amount of fluid in the pouch of Douglas.

In unstimulated cycles ovulation occurs between 18 to 25 mms. size of follicle. In stimulated cycles it may go upto 45 mms.
