Large Bite On Back, Attacked The Muscles, Swelling. What Are Tunnels In Muscles?
My sis is in the hospital. Had a large bite on her back. swell up and was attacking to her muscle. Dr said she had to have surgery. Now she has an area 3 fingers wide open and draining on her back. They cultured it and don t have the results yet. They said there are tunnels in her muscles. we live in midwest. Any idea what could have caused this?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. After a bite in the muscle tissue, the chances of infection in the area are very high. The tunnels may form due to the infection or due to tendon sheaths. The culture report will help in starting the specific antibiotic. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
