Knee Pain Due To Exertion. Took Lubri Joint Medication. How Long Can I Use That?

Hi, Good Day! I am 34 years old and started doing classical dance after 15 years. Got the left knee pain after 4 months and doctor suggested me to do some exercises along with taking lubri joint medicine twice a day for about one month. I was feeling better when I was taking lubri joint. But now I am getting the pain again after stopping that. Can I continue using that and how long. Please suggest.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Knee joint in our body is a weight bearing joint ,hence very prone to injury and any ligament rupture.
Knee joint have two in principal as FEMUR ( upper bone in thigh) & TIBIA (lower bone in leg) . One more bone is also in leg that is fibula but this bone don't form a part of knee joint.
There are cartilages in knee joint called MENISCI .
The menisci are commonly torn in sports or in dancing or when raising kne in kneeling position.
As you were performing dance , it might happen that tibia ( lower bone) rotated on femur in the flexed position.
So once again explain whole situation to your doctor and get in complete treatment as prescribed by doctor/ orthopaedician.
Hope I have answered your question.
If further any question I will help.
GET WELL SOON.
