Dear Concerned.,
Thanks for writing to us.
As per the available history, she is probably having "Osteoarthritis"/Joint Failure due to usually ageing process//overweight// Degeneration of soft tissues and erosion of Cartillages in knee joint. Also accumulation of fluid or effusion.
She will have to first undergo baseline blood and urine investigations//X Ray of the affected joint/joints AP and lateral views and MRI as required. In addition Lipid Profile//urea ,uric acid levels ,creatinine are also contributory.
Coming to the treatment part(1)CONSERVATIVE;- initially, she will have to do dieting and reduce weight//Analgesics such as Paracetamol //Chondroitin sulphate, Vitamin and calcium suppliments//Physiotherapy//reduction of effusion if it is there by an orthopedic surgeon//Knee braces as per Ortho advice to give stability to joint.
(2)SURGERY;-Replacement of knee joint in a tertiary care centre will give a definitive cure.

You are requested to kindly follow as per above protocol.,
Wishing you a speedy recovery.,
Best Regards.,
