Jerking legs all the time. Can I take nexium? History of partial paralysis

I am having major problems with jerking leg (left mostly) - should I be taking Nexium? Just started about a month ago and sleeping is almost impossible. Have had magnesium checked, okay, iron okay, have used many creams and rubs to no avail am 76 years old and fell off a roof twenty years ago, left foot is partially in paralysis Help
