Jaundice. Ultrasound Shows Gallbladder To Be Contracted With Small Calculi. Ayurvedic Treatment For This?

Have had jaundice thrice in the past 7 months. Ultra-sound done 4 times which did not show any gall-bladder pathology. However in the 5th ultra-sound ,the gall-bladder is shown to be contracted with small calculi +a stone at the terminal end of the common bile duct -8 mms size.Is there any oral treatment in the form of ayurveda or allopathic .Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM.
There is no such medicine. This is patholgoicaly changed gallbladder and it cant be managed without surgery. Cholecystectomy is a routine procedure today and you shouldnt be afraid of it. Your conditon may lead to some serious consequences such as cholecystitis or cholangitis. There are certain drugs such as ursodeoxicolic acid but it cant be effective now ehn gallbladder is irreversibly changed.
Si I suggest surgical procedure which can be done laparoscopicaly today. WIsh you good health.

1. your condition is no longer labelled as "Medical" jaundice, because gall bladder shows calculi, it will be treated as "Surgical" jaundice, so Cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder) is ideal treatment for you.
2. also because GB is in anti gravity position, thus it will be very difficult for small calculi to come out of the duct,so in order to prevent further scarring and carcinomatous changes surgery (laproscopy) is ideal procedure.
3. Ayurveda medicines can be given after successful procedure to prevent minimize inflammation and prevent recurrence of symptoms.

hi
welcome to hcm
thanks for your query
as there is no specific treatment for GB calculi in any pathy , it would be better for you to go for surgical procedure [ laproscopic cholecystectomy]
if it is left untreated or with inappropriate measures it can lead to number of serious complications
i wish you good health
