After reading your query there are two possibilities can be made: 1. Recurrent Folliculitis: It is a Simple blockage and inflammation of the oil and hair root. 2. Seborrhea capitis: It may be due to over activity of oil gland. As this is painful so this possibility is less likely. Both of these conditions if aggravated can cause lymph node swelling of neck area in extreme situations. You can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablet such as paracetamol or diclofenac. An oral antibiotic is must to be taken care of properly such as ciproflaxacin or cefadroxyl 500 mg twice daily for 5 days. Do not try to pinch pop or even touch the area as it may lead to secondary infection and further aggravation and spread. Take care.
