Itchy Rash On Arms, Stomach, Neck, Right Thigh, Chest, Ribcage, Scalp. Develops Bumps And Hives. Suggestion?

I have an itchy rash all over my arms, stomach, back of my neck, my right thigh, and my chest and ribcage (both sides). Not sure what it is. I develop bumps and occasionally hives from the itching. Been putting baby oil on all irritated parts as well as taking frequent showers and using cortisone-10. My scalp also itches as well. I am the only member of my household that is having this issue.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The rash may be related to an allergic reaction. Generalised itching can also occur in infections such as scabies, liver disease, thyroid disease.

An oral antihistamine would be helpful in reducing the itching. These are available over the counter.

If it continues you should consider visiting your doctor for an assessment to determine the cause. It would be important to rule out infection and blood tests may also be suggested to check the liver and thyroid.

I hope this helps
