Itchy Foot. Took X-ray. Taken Antibiotics, Benadryl. Itchy Welts On Arms, legs Persistent. Recommendations?
Started with an itchy right foot. thought I got bit by a tick. x rayed my foot and the nurse practitioner said it may be a fungal infection. Gave me antibiotics at 2000 mg a day for a week. welts on my arms and legs along with Itching persisted. took Benadryl to cope. Antibiotics were finished last Thursday and no change.
As x-ray itself cannot diagnose the condition you need to consult a dermatologist for this as without looking at the site no one can diagnose anything. Most common causes for this may be the follong -eczema -psoriasis -scabies -chickenpox -celiac disease -iron deficiency anemia -thyroid problems -nerve disorders -irritation and allergic reactions
You need to take anti histaminics for this and cortisone ointment may help you.You first need to prevent itching then automatically the marks will be gradually decreased. If they are not reduced by antifungals then it might not be a fungal infection. Thank you.

Itchy Foot. Took X-ray. Taken Antibiotics, Benadryl. Itchy Welts On Arms, legs Persistent. Recommendations?
Hello, If the lesion was diagnosed as a fungal infection then antifungal drugs need to be prescribed. Antibiotic has no rule in treating fungal infections. You may continue with Benadryl to control itching. Get yourself consulted by a dermatologist and take antifungal according his instruction.
