Itching on the external wall of penis, intense pain on scratching, habit of masturbation. Is it due to masturbation?

Hi doctor, I m a 24 year old boy working in Bangalore & for the past 1 year, I m experiencing some itches on the external left side wall of my penis . It feels like to scratch it always & after the action, it pains a little. I used to masturbate atleast thrice in a week. Does this happen because of masturbation? Should I control masturbating? is it curable easily or do I need to consult any doctor? pls help me.

Hi Santhodh,
This can be because of some skin infection which can be doing this problem of itching.
Many times it happens that people who is doing this act of masturbation use some durty cloth to disharge off the semen and this can lead to some type of infection to the penis.
So the problem which your are suffering from can be because of some sort of infection or irritation to your penis because of the masturbation.
I would suggest you to consult a doctor and only after seeing the organ condition and if required doing some investigation could prescibe the medication.
In the mean time I would suggest you to stop this act and atleast take care to use clean cloth while discharging the seminal fluid.

Thanks and take care.
