Itching In Top Of Head, Causing Swelling In That Area With Reddish Spot. Suggestion?
I just had a very icthy area and scratched it on the top right of my head, happened a night before when I was half asleep. In the morning I got up I saw a big swollen on that area on my head, and it keeps swelling and bigger until now, this morning. I can see it clearly as I always shape my head. I notice a redish spot in the middle of swollen area.
It appears that you may have an infection of the scalp. The swelling may be secondary to an inflammatory response or also related to the presence of discharge.
The exact cause of the would require examination of your doctor, if he or she thinks it is fungal in nature then you would need to use anti fungal agents for 3 to 4 weeks.
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
As this is of recent origin, it seems that this might be due to some insect bite causing this problem.
Rule out Dandruff and seborrhic dermatitis as well.
Take some antihistamine like Cetrizine or Levo cetrizine for a day or two.
If it dies not clear then consult your doctor and get examined.
Ok and bye.
