Usually certain amount of vaginal discharge
is normal (1 to 2 tsp/day). Discharge can be thick or thin in consistency, color varies from clear fluid, milky or dark brown colour (especially during menstruation
). Discharge is due to glands which are present in cervix
and vagina, they are greatly influenced by female sex harmones, that's why we notice variation in the amount of discharge during menstruation, due to oral contraceptive pills
and also during sexual arousal. Normal commensals (non harmful organisms) which are present in vagina also contributes to vaginal discharge. All above mentioned things are normal phenomenon.
