Is Waxing Safe While On Steroid Cream Usage?

I have booked to have a bikini wax with hot wax. Having read some information it suggests you shouldn t receive this treatment if you have used a steroid cream in the area in the last 3 months. I have sporadically used fucidin in the area to treat mild psoriasis In previous months and have used a handful of times in the past week. Should I cancel my wax?

Hi.
As per your query, my advice is -
1. Waxing will lead to folliculitis if you are using steroid cream.
2. So stop steroid cream atleast 15 days before waxing.
3. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily after waxing for 7-10 days.
4. You can restart steroid cream after 7-10 days.

If any skin allergy occurs then consult a dermatologist.
