Hello,
Welcome to HCM,

Tuberculosis is caused by a acid fast bacilli called mycobaterium tuberculi, this is a communicable disease which is transmitted to others by droplet infection and droplet nuclei during the act of sneezing, coughing and talking.

As the patient is on treatment for last one year, by this time all the TB bacilli will be destroyed by the effective anti TB drugs like rifampicin, so by this time they will be non infectious and will not transmit TB to other individuals.

I would suggest you to follow personal protection measures to avoid any contact with the TB bacilli.
Thank you.
