Is Transplantation The Only Solution For Damaged Kidneys?

Good Evening! My brother got both the kidneys damaged. He has undergone dialysis 2 times within last month. Doctors say transplantation would be the final solution. I have got his test reports scanned with me.
Is there any other solution to this kidney problem? Your suggestion in this regard will be highly appreciable.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello Manoj and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your anxiety.
Once the kidneys have failed, the only options are dialysis or transplantation.
Dialysis is an artificial kidney. It does all the function of a kidney.
A kidney transplant is the better option in the long term.
Maintainence dialysis is done twice or thrice a week.
It can be done as a hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis(CAPD).
If you've any other doubts, send it to me as a direct question.
