Is Tracheostomy Tubes Removal For COPD End Stage Very Painful?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... My friend is at the end stage of COPD. She is on a trach, which the doctors will remove, as is her wishes. The doctors say she will never be able to breath on her own. She is 75 years old. Will the process be painful? Will she just stop breathing or will she be gasping for air and to breath, or will it be peaceful? How long will it take?

Hello dear , hi

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* Tracheostomy tubes removal is hardly 10 minutes OPD procedure , not
much painful .

* She will not immediately stop breathing , but surely there will be difficult
breathing .

* How much peaceful it is and how long it will take , varies from person to
person & internal pathology state .

Hope this will help you for sure .
Regards .
