Is Traces Of Penicillin Found In Amoxicillin?

I am trying to find the medicine griseofulvin micro. It is for athletes feet and I am having trouble finding it. I was also reading on the website Drug.com that if your allergic to penicillin then consult your doctor. I am allergic to amoxicillin and I know that penicillin is in the amoxicillin family. Just wondering what the side affects are for the allergy thing.

Amoxicillin is a form of penicillin. If you have an allergic reaction to amoxicillin, you should not be taking any form of penicillin. Allergic reactions can be hives, itching, shortness of breath, swelling, or shock. Side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea etc are not allergic reactions and can vary among drugs in the same family. If you just had side effects from amoxicillin, it does not mean you will have side effects from penicillin. But any type of allergic reaction can be dangerous, so if it was an actual allergic reaction, you should avoid any drugs in the same family. Hope this answers your query.
