Is Total Hysterectomy The Proper Treatment For Severe Cramping In Abdomen?

I m having a full hysterectomy on April 15th. This started in January when I had a routine gynecology appt. After finding many fibroids, I was put through a lot of other tests. It seemed there was a quarter size fibroid which was contributing to the pain. After a DNC, pelvic procedures, vaginal probes etc. The decision was made to have a UAE. The MRI and the ultra-sound they decided to revisit that surgery. Now they re suggesting a full hysterectomy. I m nervous for obvious reasons, but I would rather have all the organs removed than look at some type of cancer in the future. Hopefully this will alleviate the severe cramping I ve been having for quite some time...and it s getting worse. Endometriosis has also been diagnosed. Does it sound like I am doing the right thing?

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns .Multiple fibroids in the uterus and endometriosis which are causing cramping pain in the abdomen and excessive bleeding during menstruation, needs treatment by hysterectomy only, as uterine artery embolization is not a good treatment option for multiple fibroids and endometriosis.
You need to endometrial biopsy to rule out any endometrial carcinoma in the uterus.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
