Is Total Bilirubin Value Of 0.5 Mg/dl A Cause For Concern?
On 9th of December 2015 a patient s bilirubin (Total) was 3.2 mg/dl very nexy day it s showing 0.5 mg/dl. The first day test was done on Dry chemistry system with Daily QC on target value. External QC showing Less than + or - 1.5 SD. Second time done in some other lab so QC results not available but a total bilirubin value reported as 0.5 mg/dl. Again on 11th of December 2015 test repeated in Dry chemistry system. Results are showing Bilirubin total as 1.2 mg/dl. What can be the for this fluctuating results.
Does the patient appears jaundiced or having any other clinical symptoms? we could start from there. Can you provide with more relevant history regarding age, alcohol consumption, dietary alterations, history of travel and eating outside. Are the patients symptoms improving?
