Is Thin Stool While On Stool Softeners A Concern?

I am 66 and just had blood tests and my hemo was 9.0 and my hemoticrit was 29.1. I am single and do not eat well and I do not eat red meat much at all. Pretty much just chicken and fish. A stool sample tested positive for blood in stools but I have not noticed any or any dark stools. I am regular as clock work. stools have become less in diameter but still regular. I am on a stool softener. Should I be worried.

Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* The blood in stool is from either hemorrhoid or infection following chicken

* Loose stool is obvious with stool softner , nothing to worry for that .

* But strongly recommended to maintain diet for sometime till full
recovery .

Hope this will help you .
Regards .
