Is There Anything Wrong With My Heart ? My Pulse Rate Just

Is there anything wrong with my heart? My pulse rate just won't go beyond 135 per minutes during exercise. Prior to my recent medication, I used to run or jog as much as 2 hours in a stretch, 4 times a week. (I was training for my marathon end of this year!). However, 3 months ago, I have been diagnosed to have high blood pressure and high collesterol, and doctor put me on Atenolol and Simvor10 (statins). I still maintain my jogging regime, but reduce the speed and timing (to 60 minutes) of my jogs. I am fearful, as my heart beat just would not go past 135 per minute no matter how long I jog. Prior to my medication, my heart beat rate used to go as high as 170 per minute. Tell me, anyone, is thre anything with me - my doc told me that Atenolol is the one that lowers my heart beat rate (at rest in mornings/ evenings at 62 per minute. 75 prior to medication).

Hi markku,
As you are taking atenolol which is Beta blocker reduces the sympathetic activity so reduces heart rate during rest as well durind activity, so dont worry you continue with jogging regime as it will helpfull in reducing blood pressure also.
Take care
