Is There Any Treatment For White Patches On Penis And Testicles? Could It Be Vitiligo?

I m 60. I ve got white patches on my pénis and on my testicles for 3 years. I saw a dermatologista and she made me have some exams in order to see whtether my tyroid was ok. There was nothing wrong with it. But the whtite spots went on and became wider. Some white spots appeared also on my face. That s horrible. I went and see a second dematologist and he was quick in his diagnosis: VITILIGO. He didn t need any exams for it. He gave me DERMOVAT to apply on the surfasse of the skin with the patches but he also said I ll have to live with them for ever. Isn t there any hope?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
Vitiligo is treatable. There are different modalities of treatment including topical steroid creams, tacrolimus ointment, pimecrolimus cream, light treatment , anti oxidant capsules etc. Some of my patients have got complete cure. However the treatment will take time and you need to follow up with a good dermatologist regularly as advised.
Dermovate is a potent topical steroid (clobetasol propionate). The areas where you have vitiligo i e face , penis and scrotum have very thin skin and I would'nt have given potent steroid to apply on these areas. Maybe a mid potent steroid like mometasone furoate will be better according to me.
Yes there is hope,
Hope this helped,
Take care.
