Is There Any Side Effects For Taking Uprise D3?

during a normal health check my d3 level was found to be 10 but i was having no problem at all. i started taking uprise d3 60k once a week for 10 wks and d3 level went up to 46. i still had no problem .. then when i continued with uprise i started getting knee joint pain and dull ache of adductor muscle which i never had in my life. i am 60. all x rays are normal. doctor said muscle strength is normal ...i strongly feel its bcos of uprise side effect. i read on the net that bone and muscle pain can be side effects of uprise d3 60k ... I intend to stop uprise and see. please advise rajat

Hi Rajat,
The vitamin D3 level you have mentioned does not contain any units. In the absence of the info, I will you a view on the levels. If you are in normal range, there is no need to take uprise (vitamin d3).
Normal range
- A normal level: 25 OHD concentration greater than 30 ng/mL (75 nmol/L).
- Vitamin D insufficiency: 25OHD concentration of 20 to 30 ng/mL (50 to 75 nmol/L).
- Vitamin D deficiency: 25OHD level less than 20 ng/mL (50 nmol/L).
I would prefer 25 OHD levels for assessing. No need to take supplementation if you are in normal range as higher vitamin D levels can cause side effects. I advice other measures like diet rich in calcium and adequate exposure to sunlight.
Hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a wonderful day.
