Is There Any Serious Side Effect Of Taking Eptoin For Long Period?

I am status epileptic patient .I have been taking eptoin 100mg a day for the last 3 years . I have got a seizure on last December,2013 ,After that I have been taking eptoin 100mg a day daily. For the last two months I have no seizure. could I stop taking the medicine. Is there any serious side effect for taking it long for period.

But when not taken can cause fits and fits can cause even death
So
Please take Phenytoin instead of worrying about the side effects
