Is there any role of genetics in the alcohol addiction ?

I read in the news paper that there is role of genetics in the addiction of alcohol. I felt it is having some environmental background. Is there any role of genetics in the alcohol addiction ?

There is no role of genetics in alcohol addiction. It is a addiction, a behavioral problem not a hereditary issue. It is aminly a social factor which plays role in addiction. This is nothing to do with genees

yes what you have read is right people who have geneticly susceptible individuals sufer from alcohol addiction.
