Is There Any Risk Of Early Labor Having Low Amniotic Fluid?
My daughter in-law is 32 weeks pregnant with her third child, she has low amniotic fluid and has had with all 3 pregnancies. Her first child was born and 38 wks, 2nd at 36 wks. She has dropped, has blood in her urine and her white blood cells are high. We are hopping she will make it to 37 wks. Is she at risk for early labour?

I am sorry for all the complications. The infection in urine rather than the amniotic fluid may cause preterm labor. However if the amniotic fluid continues to remain low then she may need an artificial induction of labor as it becomes difficult for the baby to survive inside the uterus with low amniotic fluid.
Having said this, please ask her to drink plenty of water. This helps in improving the amniotic fluid as well as decreasing the urine infection. Ask your doctor for antibiotics for the urine infection. Drugs like nitrofurantoin are useful. If these are controlled then risk of preterm labor is low.
