Is There Any Risk Of Contracting HIV Through A Pinprick?

Hi...I just got a prick by stepler pin which was sticked to the pager magnet when I went for an appointmnet to my gynaec...

The pager was given to me by front desk clerk..I accidently got pricked on thumb & got a drop of blood..The stepler pin was dry though.

Is there any risk of acquiring HIV thorugh such pinprick?

Hello
Needle prick was there but by any means , prick was.
If the stepler pin was contaminated by means chance of getting HIV infection is there . But reverse is also there , if pin was not contaminated no chance of any HIV infection.
Usually in this way there is no chance of getting infection but again IF needle or pin was contaminated then you are in risk.
So wait for 2-3 weeks and get in Western blot test for HIV confirmation.
Good luck.
