Is There Any Connection Between Eustachian Tubes And Belching?

I suffer from Eustachian tube dysfunction, in addition to having Sampter's triad. I've had three sinus surgeries to resolve persistent sinus infections. In the past year or so my condition has become pronounced in my ears, where I produce thick mucus that doesn't drain because of my eustachian tube issue. Often when this happens I experience excessive belching. At times this is helpful relieving some of the ear pressure. My question is what is the connection between my eustachian tubes and the belching?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
During belching the nasopharyngeal air pressure decreases so the Eustachian tube opens up and mucus accumulated in the middle ear may get drained through the Eustachian tube at that time.
