Is There Any Benfit To Trying Out A Leukotriene Receptor Antagonist Like Montelukast For Nephrotic Syndrome?

Now im frustrated because im trying to make a payment on debit card and its not working Neprologist to answer please. My daughter aged 3 and a half yearswas diagnosed with ? Mcd (no biopsy yet) nephrotic syndrome. She is steriod responsive but she also has severe atopic excema which seems to precede the relapse. Is there any benefit to trying out a leukotriene receptor antagonist like montelukast. I was concerned about the paradoxical reaction of one man in a case report who developed nephrotic after starting the drug. Maybe this is due to the drug messing up the leukotriene homeostasis.?what do you think. Im desperate to get her off steriods. She has terrible mood swings and I can feel her ligaments getting lax when I pick her up (collagen and steroids) IM A GP DOCTOR MYSELF BUT NEED EXPERT OPINION. My email address is YYYY@YYYY . Thanks

Hello Doctor,
I am not a Nephrologist capable of answering your particular query regarding the drug reactions and actions.
I am a Homoeopath accidentally your question came in front of me. If you are not satisfied by my answer, you can again make a direct query to a nephrologist through Healthcare magic.
But I feel you are fortunate to get this answer from me. Please doctor, only because you happened to be a GP, it does not mean that you have to treat your loving daughter with chemo drugs and steroids. You know better than me what these drugs will do for your daughter.
It was unfortunate that your daughter got symptoms of Nephrotic syndrome. Two things have happened. Either your daughter's genetic tendencies are bad. If you had given me the whole past history of her since getting conceived, during and after delivery, till now, treatment history, family history etc., I could have said better about that. Or the treatment given to her so far for milder allergic or infectious diseases might have made her kidneys affected.
My humble advice is to leave her free from all chemo and steroid treatments. If she is not picking up and continues to show symptoms of Nephrotic syndrome, take her to the best and expert Homoeopath whom you can approach. Leave aside your thoughts that you are a GP of modern medicine and how you will follow the advice of a Homoeopath etc.
In Homoeopathy, we treat her and not her kidneys.
You have to take into consideration her mind symptoms also like mood swings while treating her, as you have mentioned. In Homoeopathy, we take her case in detail, her mind and body symptoms to reach at a curative, genetic and constitutional remedy.
If you cannot find a competent Homoeopath, You can get back to me with her case in detail. I can even help you to prepare her case by sending a case taking format on request. You can also directly ask a question to me through Healthcare magic and get relaxed.
Further drugs and steroids will only worsen your daughter's conditions. This I am telling from my long experience of 35 years of Homoeopathic practice.
With best wishes,
Dr C. J. Varghese
