From what you have described, the problem can range from a very simple illness like anxiety disorder to more severe neurological causes of memory loss. Since the details of fainting episode are not adequate, it is not possible to come to a proper conclusion. It is advisable to consult a neurologist and get yourself investigated.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
You are having post traumatic dementia. It is best if you get an MRI of head done to assess the amount of damage that has happened. Yours is not an age for senile dementia.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

hi Fazlin,
welcome to HCM
read your prob, you are suffering from short term memmory loss,its cause of lesion in brain or due to some pathology in brain. so you should rule out the cause by getting contrast MRI. then discuss it with your nurologist n start proper treatment. meanwhile you should start some brain tonic like BRAMHI. it helps you in retaining your memory.

Hello fazlin;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
The episode of fainting 5 yrs back when the doctor told that you may lose your memory whether it was investigated or not.Whether there was any pathological problem like a tumor or reduced blood supply to a certain part of brain which is seen in CT scan so based on what the doctor said this about memory please describe.Presently you are facing a short term memory which can be as a result of stress in your personal life.Since you said you have problems in your family the loss of memory can be due to your stress that is mental tension.Please consult a Neurologist and get investigated keeping in mind your past fainting episode.If the reports are normal then you are probably having memory problem due to stress.
Thanks
