Is There A Permanent Treatment For Acne When Tetralysal Lymecycline Has Not Helped?
Hi, I'm 20 years old and I have been taking tetralysal lymecycline 300 for 8 months now!! (to eliminating my acne on my face and skin head) In the first 2 months I had been taking 1 capsule daily and the next 6 months I had been taking 1 capsule every other day. The effect on my acne is absolutely perfect, and I have no pimples since the first week after I started the treatment. When I stop the treatment for 4-5 days I get some pimples on my skin. What I should do now? I think I can't take this throughout my life... Thank You!
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic. It is generally not advisable to take tetracycline group of antibiotics for 8 months. You could try to continue and maintain with topical agents like clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide and adaferin combinations. You could also do salucylic peels to keep acne under control. Have a healthy diet and avoid excessive milk and milk products, deep fried and oily food, cheese and foodstuffs containing high sugar content. Drink 2-3 lites of water/ fresh fruit juices every day. The other medication you could try is oral isotretinoin which has to be used strictly under a dermatologist s supervision. However, acne could still recur after stopping this medication. Hence, try to follow above measures and hope it helps you. Take care.
